VIDEO BOOSTS ENGAGEMENT, BUT INTERACTIVITY IS LACKING
Almost two-thirds of employees feel more aligned with a company’s vision through interactive video.
Employees increasingly prefer video as their primary mode of internal communication, with 69% reporting that it positively impacts their motivation at work, according to a new survey. Nearly two-thirds (65%) of respondents said that interactive video and webinars help them feel more aligned with their company’s vision.
The study, conducted by software company Vizrt, found that only a third of companies currently use live streaming, while 36% use town halls, despite these formats being what employees are looking for in terms of engagement. The main use of video communication is video conferences, with 53% of respondents indicating they use this format.
In a recent webinar, Vizrt PR and external communications lead, Amisa Saari, highlighted the growing demand for more creative video communications. "In today’s digital world, where video is consumed in diverse ways, it’s crucial to both entertain and inform."
When asked what would make video communications more engaging, survey respondents cited interactive graphics (39%) and virtual reality (34%). Nearly half (49%) emphasised the importance of augmented reality (AR) and personalised content. Vizrt has launched TriCaster Vizion, a platform designed to help businesses create more advanced and engaging video content.
