UK COMPANY WEBSITES OMIT CRUCIAL CAREERS INFORMATION
New research shows top UK companies are failing to provide basic careers information, putting the employer brand at risk.
UK companies are failing to provide essential career information on their websites, as only 37% offer details on career progression and promotion opportunities, according to new research.
The study, conducted by communications agency Comprend, found only 14% of UK companies include onboarding information on their websites, and 3% share details on training processes.
Shortcomings in companies’ investor relations were also highlighted. Only 26% meet stakeholder expectations, compared with 28% across Europe. UK companies have been improving their sustainability and accessibility communications however, with 52% meeting sustainability criteria and 70% presenting an accessibility statement.
The research aligns with Edelman’s 2024 Trust Barometer, which shows 82% of employees consider upskilling opportunities to be vital. Comprend deputy CEO, Staffan Lindgren, emphasises the importance of transparent career information to the employer brand. “Companies that prioritise detailed and transparent career information not only attract high-quality talent but also build trust and strengthen their employer brand.”
“By showcasing their values and aligning with the needs of potential hires, these companies position themselves as employers of choice in a competitive market.”
