PR PROFESSIONALS SEEK MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT
Stress and burnout has meant PR professionals are asking for more support in the workplace.
PR professionals are being explicit about their mental health needs in the workplace, with 72% claiming to have already received support from co-workers and 60% support from leadership, according to a Muck Rack report.
Stress and burnout have caused 44% of PR professionals to quit this year. The vast majority, 96%, struggle to switch off after work, and a quarter cite an “always on” culture as a main stressor.
The study, which analysed the work-life balance of 2,200 PR professionals, found they use less than 75% of their allotted annual leave on average and, when they do, 88% continue to be contacted by work.
