87% OF TECH BUSINESS LEADERS SAY THEY ARE UNPREPARED FOR WEB 3.0
New data reveals that the majority of tech business leaders believe the current state of their digital platforms is not in shape for the next phase of the internet.
Approaching the 31st year anniversary of the world wide web, technological advancements to the internet are only just beginning. However, 90% of tech business leaders worry their sites are not ready for Web 3.0, according to a new study from Forrit.
The study also reveals the reason behind these worries, as 57% of UK tech business leaders admitted their websites have security flaws.
Forrit founder and CEO Peter Proud goes on to describe the future state of the internet as disastrous: “Forget Web 3.0, we’re heading towards Web O.No - a grim reality of an internet unfit for purpose unless we act now. It’s time to stop layering on outdated, vulnerable web management systems, which exacerbate the problem.”
Forrit CRO Gary Roberts points to reusable components for web development (or composable web architecture) as a powerful tool in changing the game. Roberts says: “Your website management platform (CMS) should be an enabler of digital innovation, not a barrier. Embracing composable web architecture removes the current barriers, providing a clear pathway to the future - whether that’s the metaverse, Web 3.0, or any other pioneering tech advancement as yet undiscovered.”
