CORPORATE ENGAGEMENT AWARDS 2017 SHORTLIST REVEALED
The Corporate Engagement Awards 2017 continues to recognise the best in collaborative CSR, sustainability and partnership programmes. The awards' annual benchmarking of successful, genuine and thought-provoking strategies places corporate communications at its core. With the 2017 shortlist announced today, this year’s calibre of entries showcases an exemplary emphasis on collaboration within the corporate landscape.
For companies like IKEA and its long-established IKEA Foundation, raising awareness of issues such as child labour and education are central to its wider CSR goals, yet are often alienated from over 150,000 global staff members. Aligning this with its in-store workforce, the Swedish company turned to social media to streamline communications. Collaborating with London-based Kindred Agency, the results unified both its CSR outreach with its budding social audience, gaining shortlisted positions in the categories ‘Best internal communications’ and ‘Best charity, NGO or NFP programme.’
Equally, building literacy in the modern social landscape must be inclusive of the language of technology. For telecommunications specialists, BT, this is central to its work with grassroots organisation, Computing at School. Providing the tools for adequate CPD education, with workshops and free resources, BT and Computing at School’s push to prepare young people for the digital world garnered shortlisted positions in ‘Best educational programme’ and ‘Best pro bono work for a charitable, social or ethical cause.’
Multinational information technology company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), took a similar approach to BT with the launch of their campaign, Digital Empowers. As a strategic partner of the World Economic Forum, TCS’s Digital Empowers harnesses the global imprint of digital technology throughout varied communities, promoting and contributing its widespread usage. Examples such as using drones to save endangered animals and smartphones to farm sustainably have earned TCS nominations in categories such as ‘Best combined programme’ and ‘Best stakeholder communications.’
With a carefully considered programme, this year’s shortlist highlights the importance of in-depth analysis, manifested in over 20 categories and judges. Kerry North, senior manager, youth and community at O2 (Telefonica UK Limited) and awards judge, says, “This year’s entries showed the shared value for organisations and society through some really great partnerships. I was so impressed with how corporates are working alongside charities beyond philanthropic activities – all partners bring something to the table to create amazing benefits that reach much further than working in isolation.”
The Corporate Engagement Awards 2017 will be held on 20 June 2017 in London, for further information and to book your place, contact Brian Donnelly or call +44207 498 7008.
