WEBINARS MAKE PR AVAILABLE TO ADULT LEARNERS

The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) yesterday (22 May) announced they have teamed up with The National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE) to host a series of webinars on the fundamentals of public relations.

Hosted by CIPR’s trainer, Allison Arnot, the webinars will be part of the 2014 Adult Learners’ Week’s ‘Festival of Learning’ that has been designed to introduce professional development in public relations to a new audience.

As the professional body for public relations practitioners, CIPR’s festival webinars, held from 16 – 18 June, will cover 'Introduction to Public Relations', ‘Introduction to PR disciplines', and ‘Introduction to stakeholder engagement.’

Sukhjit Singh Grewal, CIPR director of professional development and membership, says “The long term success and viability of public relations is dependent on our participation in initiatives such as Adult Learners’ Week to raise the awareness of public relations as being a professional discipline with lifelong learning opportunities.”

Deputy chief executive of NIACE, Tom Stannard, says “We are delighted that a professional body of the calibre of CIPR has recognised the value of being part of the thousands of events for the Festival of Learning…they recognise Adult Learners’ Week as a great opportunity to reach new audiences, encouraging them to see learning as key to personal and career development.”

The full Adult Learner’s Week will run from 14 – 20 June and encompasses PR, media and public affairs campaigns to raise awareness and engagement in learning. The Festival will include collaborations with major institutions such as The National Portrait Gallery.
