LIVECOM AWARDS SPARKS INDUSTRY CHANGES
Last Friday, the IVCA hosted it’s last awards ceremony as a non-joint entity with new partner Eventia. The organisations, which merged on 6 January, are set to rebrand this year.
The LiveCom Awards, which celebrate excellence in live events and experiential marketing, took place in London on Friday. March’s 26th annual IVCA Awards will be the first to be held by the joint organisation.
The ceremony saw drpgroup take home nine awards including two golds for its work on the JCB Global Dealer Conference. GSK’s programme Scientists in Sport – which encourages young people to engage with science and engineering – nabbed three gongs for EdComs. Others including Havas and The Bank were multiple winners. At the event on Friday, drpgroup announced its acquisition of Grosvener TV, the 26-year-old production company founded by former IVCA chairman Des Good. Drpgroup’s MD Dale Parmenter says that Grosvener, which deals primarily with public sector clients, including the Ministry of Defense (MoD), will complement drpgroup’s existing client base.
He adds, “This is a very exciting time for our video division. Grosvenor joining the drpfamily will allow us to significantly bolster our offering in London. It’s vital that we allow our new team to grow the business, while maintaining a very personal style of customer relationship they have become renowned for.”
The six members of the Grosvener team will join the drpgroup. Thus, Grosvener’s work for the MoD on the Army’s recruitment campaign, will fall to the newly-expanded drpgroup. They face the communications challenge of inspiring new recruits to the recently-diminished armed forces.
