THE DRPGROUP LAUNCH NEW FACILITY

The drpgroup opened their new midlands studio complex, named 212, with launch parties on Thursday and Friday. The organisation has spent £3.6 million renovating the building and restoring some of its original features. The events had a 1940s theme, including a genuine spitfire aircraft outside to honour the buildings original purpose as a storage facility for spitfire parts and production.

The first night saw all of the drpgroup’s clients invited to take tours of the four new edit suites and the new audio suite, which featured a thirty-seat cinema, from members of the ‘drpteam’. Guests also enjoyed a three course meal, hosted by Studio One, and entertainment that ranged from a choir, aerialists, and drummers to a performance from The X Factor’s Duke. The night ended with a projection onto the building of the journey from the 1940s to the modern day.

Managing director of the drpgroup, Dale Parmenter, said, “Delivering an event like this for our friends and clients is always a real pleasure. We get to push the boat out creatively and demonstrate what can be achieved by merging live events, video digital and design into one hugely engaging comms piece. The reaction has been fantastic, particularly on social media and I would like to thank all our friends and guests for their kind words and tweets.”

The second night was a more relaxed affair that saw family and friends of the drpteam invited to take a look around their loved one’s new working world and get an insight into what they do. The guests were treated to the same entertainment as the previous evening but with a slightly more personal touch to the finale which showed the core values of the company.
