AWARDS CELEBRATE COMMS FROM BRITAIN TO THE BALKANS
Last weekend in Zagreb, Croatia, the best and brightest in European public relations gathered at the 2013 PRO.PR Conference. The three-day conference featured Balkan and British business leaders, communications directors and academics who discussed everything from international PR to reputation management to the communications challenges of different industries.
As part of the conference, the PRO.PR Awards recognise excellence in individual, public and private PR projects. Three were distributed to leading British PR professionals for their work in European public relations.
“This award has been established to recognise those who generously contribute to the profession of public relations,” Danijel Koletić, president of the PRO.PR Conference’s organising committee, and founder of the international awards, says.
Alex Aiken, communications director of the Westminster City Council was acknowledged for two decades of supporting the development of PR in central and eastern Europe. Cathie Burton, of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe, won for her work as a governmental communicator working in the international space. Thirdly, John Dalton, founder of the London School of Public Relations, took home an award for his PR training model.
