SAGE ACQUIRES CAPITAL PRECISION

Sage Holdings has acquired Capital Precision for an undisclosed fee. The London and New York-based capital markets intelligence provider was a much-sought-after acquisition. Communicate has learnt that the firm had previously been the subject of “six or seven” unsuccessful bids, including one from a major international stock exchange. Capital Precision provides capital markets intelligence to over 200 companies and specialises in global shareholder analysis, institutional targeting and fund tracking.

“In Sage, we have found a family of businesses with the same agenda, momentum and results-oriented culture as us," said Mark Simms, CEO of Capital Precision.

Sage’s successful bid continues its strategy of creating a global corporate communications platform via acquisition. Although only formed in 2007, 2008 has seen Sage purchase financial and investor communications consultant M:Communications for an undisclosed sum, as well as Hallvarsson & Halvarsson, a stakeholder communications company in Scandinavia, and proxy solicitation company DF King. It has also acquired New York-based financial media and investor relations advisory firm Broadgate Consultants. Sage has announced plans to continue its expansion through organic growth and strategic acquisitions.
