ENGINE HIRES ETE DAVIES AS CEO OF CREATIVE DIVISION
Engine – the UK’s independent marketing, communications and consultancy company – has hired Ete Davies as chief executive officer of its creative and experience design division.
Davies will report to Engine's European CEO, Jim Moffatt.
Davies joins Engine from AnalogFolk where he led the agency towards a period of client acquisition – wins including Booking.com, Pepsi, BT, Unilever, Nando’s – and creative excellence.
With Davies as MD, AnalogFolk was recognised in the Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 (#65), won the Drum's ‘Content Marketing Agency of the Year’, was placed 29th in Econsultancy's ‘Top 100 Digital Agencies’ and ranked amongst its ‘Top 4 Creative Agencies,’ was placed #2 in Campaign Magazine’s ‘Digital Innovation Agency of the Year’ and was named IPM COGS’ ‘Service Agency of the Year.’ The agency was also recognised in the FT’s ‘UK Future 100’ as a company making an 'outstanding' positive long-term impact on its sector and wider society, and by the LSE (London Stock Exchange) in its 2019 list of ‘1,000 companies to inspire Britain.’
While at AnalogFolk, Davies also lead the London office’s regional expansion, leading and winning the pitches for Amsterdam based clients Scotch and Soda, Danone and Nike EMEA.
Davies was included in the Drum Digerati ‘Top 100 people in UK Digital’ 2017 and 2018 and was recognised in the BIMA 100 in 2017 as a ‘Champion for Good’ and in 2018 amongst its top ‘Leaders and Visionaries,’ as well as Creative Pool’s ‘Top 100 Influencers’ 2018 and Campaign Magazine’s 'Top 10 Trailblazers’ in 2017 and 2018.
Outside of AnalogFolk Davies is driving diversity, inclusion and equality across the creative industries, especially for the BAME community. He was one of the original co-founders of WeAreStripes and is the founder of CultureHeroes, both of which aim to create opportunities for BAME talent across the creative industries. He also sits on the advisory boards of several other diversity initiatives.
Davies joins Engine in September.
Jim Moffatt, European CEO of Engine says, “Ete is a rare type of modern leader who can build culture, shape new offerings and drive innovation, but importantly given his background he speaks the language of the broad spectrum of capabilities that Engine has to offer. He is a connector – of ideas, of people and of specialisms, and someone who knows how to get things done. His reputation precedes him, and I am excited to see what he can do with the firepower of a business like Engine behind him.”
