ANCHOR HANOVER ANNOUNCES DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING

Anchor Hanover, England’s largest provider of care and housing for older people, has appointed Mario Ambrosi as director of communications and marketing.

The new role follows one of the biggest mergers in housing and care in recent years, when Anchor Trust and Hanover Housing Association formed Anchor Hanover in December 2018. The new organisation serves more than 60,000 customers and employs more than 10,000 people.

A former journalist with more than 20 years of experience in communications, Ambrosi was previously communications director at Anchor Trust, having held a number of senior roles including head of policy and communications. He now leads a team with responsibility for internal and external communications, marketing and public affairs.

Ambrosi says, “In our ageing society, quality housing, care and support is needed more than ever. As Anchor Hanover, we have an exciting opportunity to ensure that the views of older people are at the heart of the debate and influencing the agenda.”

Ambrosi spearheaded several award-winning campaigns at Anchor including Standing Up 4 Sitting Down, a national campaign urging retailers to provide seating for older people. 

Prior to joining Anchor, Mario was a journalist and was Assistant Editor at Inside Housing and editor of www.insidehousing.co.uk  He is also former chair of PRCA’s charities group and former non-executive director of the Employers Network for Equality and Inclusion.
