LGCOMMS ANNOUNCES NEW LEADERSHIP TEAM
LGcomms, the national body made up of an association of authorities that works to raise the standard of communications in local government, today announced its new leadership team, following the adoption of a new constitution at its executive committee meeting.
The new constitution turns LGcomms into a company limited by guarantee, without share capital.
It also creates a new leadership body, of which Simon Jones is chair. For the first time there will also be an executive director, Francis Ingham, director general of the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA). This change follows the decision to enter into a management contract with the PRCA and the Local Government Association (LGA).

Jones says, "Our partnership with the PRCA and LGA will take LGcomms to a new level, helping us to raise the bar for local government communications."
Ingham adds, “This new leadership structure will allow LGcomms to deliver even greater insight and even more services to the local government PR sector. LGcomms’ link up with the PRCA and ICCO allows us to marry its sector-specific knowledge with our deep understanding of what’s happening in the broader UK and global PR and communications industry. Having worked in local government as a political adviser; having been a councillor; and having served on the LGA Reputation Taskforce, I have a personal commitment in its success that makes me delighted to be named as the executive director of LGcomms.”
