
EVENTOPEDIA HIRES TWO NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS
Eventopedia, the cloud based search engine for event planners and demand generation tool for hotels, venues & event suppliers, announced the appointment of two independent non-executive directors, adding further valuable knowledge and complementary expertise to the Board, including extensive experience of financing, governance & regulation, and digital product inventions.
John Macpherson is the CEO at BMLL Technologies having worked for the World’s leading investment banks (Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and Nomura) for over 20 Years. John represents BMLL Technology as part of the Bank of England Fin Tech Community.
He is also senior advisor, consultant and non-executive director to a handful of start-ups and SME’s. At Goldman Sachs John ran the European Fixed Income and Commodity Listed Derivatives Sales and Execution team in the Securities Division for over 9 Years, during which time he was promoted to the rank of Managing Director in Europe. In the roles he has held, John, has had very in depth insight not only into the Global Derivative Exchanges but also the technology required to support customer requirements and service levels needed to grow and maintain a strong P&L.

James Pimentel-Pinto is the Founder & CEO of ideafather and Leanbinary. He is also non-executive director of MindSauce and Dogma, and is an advisor to a number of private companies. James was a pioneering CTO for London digital agencies (Dare, VCCP, Iris Worldwide) and broke new ground in driving the use of digital as a viable channel for business resulting in real success for clients including Unilever, Barclays, Sony Ericsson, Shell. In 2006 he founded agencymobile to continue his digital evangelism mission through the nascent mobile channel and turned agencymobile into the go-to premium mobile agency for leading companies as diverse as the BBC, Deutsche Bank, The Football Association and the Telegraph.
James says, “I’ve been working with and advising the Founders at Eventopedia for 12-months and am delighted to be joining the board as a NED. I believe that the founders have the right approach to unifying, simplifying and enhancing an industry desperately in need of agile solutions for its users.”
