IAN ROE APPOINTED DIRECTOR OF SUSTAINABILITY FOR MERCHANTCANTOS

International creative communications agency, MerchantCantos, announced today that Ian Roe has joined the agency to lead its growing sustainability offer.

Joining as director of sustainability, Roe brings over a decade’s experience advising on sustainability strategy, communications and programmes for large global businesses.

“Resources are finite”, Ian says, “But expectations of businesses by consumers, colleagues and other stakeholders are essentially limitless. MerchantCantos brings together consultants, creatives, filmmakers and digital gurus to help businesses bridge the gap.”

“I’ve been working with the team at MerchantCantos for some time and an admirer of their work for much longer. I’m incredibly excited to come on board permanently to help clients deliver high impact sustainability campaigns and exciting, effective communications.”

Managing partner, Richard Carpenter, says, “We are delighted to welcome Ian. Sustainability has been one of our core offers for the best part of two decades and is a key growth area as businesses seek innovative sustainability programmes and authentic engagement with their colleagues, customers, and wider stakeholders.”

“Ian’s expertise further strengthens our advisory and execution capabilities as we help our clients embed sustainable business.”

Roe first moved into sustainability over a decade ago, when he led a refresh of Barclays’ sustainability reporting. He has since developed programmes and reporting for Lloyds Banking Group, Linklaters and, most recently, KPMG UK as director of corporate responsibility.

Previously, Ian worked in strategic finance and change consulting after beginning his career as assistant producer for an award-winning digital media spinout of Oxford University.
