FORSTER COMMUNICATIONS RECEIVES GLOBAL AWARD

Forster Communications has won two Best for the World awards from B Lab, the non-profit organisation which exists to support a community of UK-based B Corps. Forster scooped wins in both ‘Best for Workers’ and ‘Most Overall Community Impact’ categories, making it the only UK based PR agency to win an award in any category.

The awards were given as a result of scoring in the top ten per cent of more than 1,800 Certified B Corporations from around the world. B Corps are for-profit companies that have been certified as meeting rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.

Amanda Powell-Smith, CEO of Forster Communications, says, “We have been committed to delivering positive social change since Jilly Forster founded the company 20 years ago. We are immensely proud of these two awards – they give recognition to what Forster is all about – delivering outstanding work for clients whilst improving the communities in which we all live and work. Forster is owned by its employees and we have a range of health and wellbeing practices, including accruing additional holiday for cycling to and from work. Almost half of all our staff were involved in volunteering activities in the past year, contributing 468 hours of time. These awards prove that doing business well is good for business. I believe the PR industry would benefit hugely from more agencies going for B Corp status – those who can’t walk the ethical talk are going to get left behind.”

The awards coincide with the release of Forster Communications’ 2016 Social Change report, which outlines the company’s success in delivering positive social change for clients since it was founded in 1996, alongside its ambitions and aims for the future.

The report covers some of the agency’s recent successes, including working with businesses in the community to transform attitudes towards mental health and helping the Centre for Ageing Better build its voice as a new What Works Centre focused on improving later life for everyone.
