WE ARE SOCIAL EXPANDS CREATIVE TEAM
David Feldman and Pat McCaren join global social media agency We Are Social as associate creative directors
David joins We Are Social from Iris Worldwide, where he was deputy creative director working on brands including MINI, Domino’s, Nectar and adidas. He also helped the agency pick up new clients such as Wickes, Barclaycard Shopping and Samsung Health.
David has picked up numerous awards throughout his career for campaigns such as #hitthewinner for adidas and MINI’s ‘Not Normal’. At We Are Social, David will work across a number of the agency’s key clients, such as Google.
Pat previously held senior creative and strategist positions at Dare, DLKW Lowe and the BBC. Since August this year he has been a freelance senior creative at We Are Social, with the agency now bringing him in on a long-term contract to work across various flagship accounts, including Audi.
We Are Social now has 550 employees across ten global offices, with 150 in its London headquarters. The new appointments come shortly after We Are Social’s relocation to the Alphabeta building in Shoreditch. Double the size of its previous space, the agency now has bespoke photo and film studios, allowing it to work on professional photography, animation, and film work for clients.
Graham Jenks, creative director at We Are Social says, “We Are Social is producing award-winning creative work which competes with the best in the world, and attracting top talent like David and Pat will help us continue to push for industry defining social ideas. David’s calibre is outstanding, he understands that work with deep human insight, beyond specific channels, is the place to start. His work on adidas, MINI and Domino’s makes him a great fit. Pat has become indispensable in the agency in the weeks he’s been here, producing some amazing work. With extensive experience in sports and automotive sectors he really understands the sweet spot between great ideas with editorial narrative. David and Pat’s appointments take our creative team into an exciting next stage in its evolution.”
David Feldman, associate creative director at We Are Social says, “Social is where some of the biggest, most groundbreaking creative ideas are happening. The best socially-led campaigns are now more powerful than a TV ad or a billboard will ever be; it’s an exciting space to be in. Understanding what makes people naturally want to share and talk about ideas, and tapping into this, is going to be the most important aspect of advertising over the next few years, and I’m looking forward to being part of an agency that’s championing this approach in the industry.”
Pat McCaren, associate creative director at We Are Social says, “We Are Social has a genuinely nice buzz; people here believe in what they’re doing and are proud of their work. The client roster is a huge selling point, not only are they big global brands, but they’re brave and willing to take risks - it’s what you always want to see as a creative. We Are Social is definitely an agency that’s on the way up, and while I wasn’t looking for a long-term commitment, it was an offer I couldn’t refuse.”
