CALLING LONDON CREATES HEAD OF TECHNOLOGY ROLE

Global brand consultancy, Calling London, part of full service communications group Engine, today announces the appointment of Drew Spencer to its newly created head of technology position.

In this role, Spencer will be responsible for developing the technology capabilities across the business. A core element of his work will be to use technology to better understand and enable more effective delivery of brand purpose for Calling clients and prospects.

Spencer, who has 15 years’ experience in digital strategy, joins Calling from Despark, where he was commercial director. Prior to this, he provided independent digital and brand consultancy to clients across a variety of sectors. He also has over six years’ experience at board level working with companies such as Wireworks, where he held the roles of strategy director and managing director from 2011 to 2013.

Spencer will report to Dan Bobby, CEO. This latest announcement marks further expansion for Calling London, which appointed Joe Goldberg as a senior consultant in April.

Dan Bobby, CEO of Calling London, says, “Like many businesses, we are continually looking for ways to enhance our expertise and meet the changing needs of our clients. Drew will be using his experience to help us gain a better understanding of how technology can used to deliver a richer brand promise, which touches all aspects of an organisation.”

Drew Spencer says, “The transformative impact of technology is undeniable but, until now, most brands have only really considered it in terms of digital communications channels. I’m looking forward to establishing this new role at Calling, which will put technology at the heart of the consultancy and enable us to understand how it can underpin the delivery of brand purpose.”
