LAIKA LAUNCHES IN BERLIN TO BRING A NEW STYLE OF PR TO GERMANY’S TECH COMMUNITY

Laika solidifies its position as one of Europe’s fastest-growing tech PR agencies with client wins and new hire.

Laika Communications, founded at the end of 2018, has announced a successful start to the year. In January, it won two leading European technology startups – PayFit and OBI4wan. To help support this growth, the team has recruited leading PR consultant Inga Mücke from Mashup Communications.

PayFit, which offers companies a solution for digital payroll accounting, has instructed Laika to support the launch of its new German branch in Berlin. Laika will develop a communication strategy for the German market, conduct media training and support the startup with its events. "We decided to work together with Laika because they combine many competences in one team and already brought great ideas (and their dog Zelda) with them when they first got to know each other. You can directly feel the team spirit, commitment and creativity," Charlotte Block, brand & content manager at PayFit, says.

Dutch start-up OBI4wan which provides tools for reputation management, social media management, online customer service and intelligent chatbots, will also collaborate with Laika to expand its presence in Germany. “We are very happy to work with Laika since January this year. Michaela and her team bring a lot of experience in PR, especially in the tech sector which was important for us. Laika has a very hands-on approach and brings in great idea to boost awareness for our brand on the German market. We love their enthusiasm and working with Laika is fun and productive at the same time,” says Mia Schulz, online marketeer DACH at OBI4wan.

Laika currently services 22 clients from across Europe and the US. To continue this rapid growth and to advance Laika's strategic development, PR consultant Inga Mücke has been recruited from the Berlin agency Mashup Communications. Mücke will also spearhead the development of Laika’s storytelling offering.

"We are very pleased to welcome Inga. She is such an experienced and talented colleague. Laika will benefit immensely from her expertise in corporate storytelling. We’ve experienced exceptional growth in the last two months – which is testament to both the hard work of our team and the vibrance of the German tech market,” says Laika founder and managing director Michaela Krause.

Laika also works within a network of boutique PR startups supporting high growth tech businesses – including Old Street Communications in London and Comm’on in Paris.
