CLARE CRUISES TO 30 YEARS IN CONSTRUCTION PR

The great and the good of the construction sector and the industry’s trade media gathered for a boat trip down the Thames this week to celebrate 30 years in business for the sector’s most enduring specialist PR agency, Clare PR.

Established by managing director, Clare Ward, in 1989, Clare PR has specialised in PR campaigns for built-environment related clients since its inception and, over the years, has worked for major names including Bovis, M J Gleeson, Sainsbury’s and P&O Properties, along with a range of established and startup SME companies.

Interior leader Velimira Drummer of Stantec UK and national projects manager Paul Nolan, which has been a client of Clare PR’s for 25 years, were among the guests along with Gerald Bowey, CEO of the International Building Press (IBP) and a host of construction and building journalists and clients, including current clients.

Ward says, “There has been a lot of change in both PR and the construction sector since I first launched Clare PR three decades ago, much of it driven by technology. Standards in both sectors have never been higher and both remain extremely competitive but there’s one thing that has never changed and that’s people. Both PR and construction rely on the talent of individuals and a genuine team ethos to see projects through to successful completion.

Clare PR’s anniversary event continues a celebratory year that began in January with a revamp of the company’s website. Clare PR’s celebrations will continue for the remainder of the year, with a gallery of #ThrowbackThursday memories of power dressing moments in the life of a PR, and sponsorship of the drinks reception at the IBP national journalism awards still to come.
