ILK BUILDS PARTNERSHIP WITH THACKRAY MEDICAL MUSEUM

Integrated agency, ilk, is delighted to announce its partnership with fellow Leeds-based attraction, Thackray Medical Museum.

Together ilk and the museum will work to build awareness and generate funds for the exciting ‘Thackray in Lego Bricks’ campaign, which aims to raise £150,000 to recreate the museum in miniature out of Lego bricks. The account will be managed from the agency’s head office in Leeds.

As part of a £4m redevelopment project, which aims to transform the historic museum, the ilk team will be building on the blueprint of the campaign to bring it to life. From developing strong foundations, with an exciting launch during October half term, to adding the finishing touches over Christmas, ilk will be utilising it’s extensive PR and social experience.

As well as its expertise in media relations and a highly coveted contacts book, ilk will deliver stunt activity, organic and paid social content and campaign management to aid Thackray in raising its profile across local and trade media, both on and offline. The agency will also focus on driving footfall and increasing £1 donations to the museum, for visitors to lay a Lego brick in the model.

Nev Ridley, managing director of ilk, says, "We’re so pleased to be a part of such an exciting campaign based in our local area, which I envision will shape the future of the Museum and it’s redevelopment. We’ve taken a combined approach to the tactics on this account, to make sure it’s achieving maximum impact from the available budget, and I’m confident that with our variety of expertise our team will do a fantastic job of building brilliant results!”

The ‘Thackray in Lego bricks’ campaign aims to raise £150,000 to recreate the Grade II listed building in miniature out of the famous bricks. For a £1 donation, visitors can purchase a Lego brick and lay it in the model. The model can be found in a Lego decorated gallery on the ground floor of the museum, and on completion will measure an impressive 3m long and 1m wide.
