DC ADVISORY APPOINTS MHP COMMUNICATIONS

MHP Communications has been appointed by DC Advisory to act as its retained financial and corporate public relations adviser.

DC Advisory is a leading corporate finance adviser with specific expertise in cross-border transactions. The group’s international team provides tailored independent M&A and Debt Advice to a wide range of public and private clients, primarily in the mid-market.

DC Advisory’s parent company, Daiwa Capital Markets, is the investment banking arm of Daiwa Securities Group and provides the group with one of the most extensive networks in Asia – making the firm’s global capabilities almost unrivalled by competitors. Combined, Daiwa’s affiliates in Europe and the U.S. employ over 500 staff across 15 locations (Frankfurt, London, Lyon, Manchester, Paris, Warsaw in Europe; Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Nashville, New York, San Francisco and Tysons Corner in North America; and Bangalore and Mumbai in India).

The MHP team has been tasked with increasing awareness of DC Advisory’s international presence by positioning the firm as a leading authority on cross-border transactions and global M&A.

The team will be led by managing director Barnaby Fry, with support from Jade Neal, Charlie Barker and Florence Mayo.

The latest win further underlines continued momentum for MHP’s Financial team, after the announcement of appointments by Neptune Investment Management and Benchmark Holdings last week.

The tail end of 2017 also saw a spate of client wins including Cobham, HarbourVest Global Private Equity and Eastspring Investments, as CEO Alex Bigg implements wide-ranging changes at the agency, including a shake-up of the senior team. Recent appointments include Mike Robb as the new head of financial services; Nick Barron as deputy CEO; Andy Bloxham as head of corporate; and Andy Lyons as joint head of public affairs with James Gurling.

Richard Madden, UK CEO of DC Advisory, says, “We are delighted to have selected MHP as our PR advisers. Not only are they established players in financial services, but their creative approach to, and track record of, building global corporate reputations will be key for us as we progress DC’s international presence. We look forward to working with the team.”

Fry adds, “We are thrilled to be working with DC Advisory, an impressive business with a proven track record and exciting scope for continued growth internationally. The appointment builds on our already strong credentials in the financial services sector which has been a real area of growth for the team.”
