TRAVEL SPECIALIST PR MEDIACO WINS DISCOVER WINCHESTER ACCOUNT
Winchester City Council has selected PR Mediaco to run its Discover Winchester media relation’s activity throughout 2018.
The agency will be working closely with Discover Winchester, a consortium of private business and public agencies with a vested interest in continuing to promote Winchester’s story as a vibrant, ancient and cultured destination to the media and public.
Winchester was recently voted the ‘Best Place to Live in the UK’ in a poll by the Sunday Times, and the district has welcomed some 5.6m visitors per year according to latest research. The heritage, natural beauty, gastronomy and world-class cultural activities on offer are just some of the reasons as to why Winchester has become such a popular destination.
The region has superb historical significance and Winchester Cathedral, Wolvesey Castle and Winchester City Mill are amongst more than 40 awe-inspiring locations that allow guests to delve into the medieval history of Winchester. The traditional Farmers Market home to over 90 producers selling their local goods is a must-visit for consumers. Meanwhile the South Downs Way, Clarendon Way and Keat’s Walk are a selection of the 35 walks, tours and talks around the area that really let you get back to nature and appreciate the beauty of Winchester.
There is truly something for everyone in the area, with boutique shopping experiences in the shopping centre, the Bombay Sapphire Distillery for those with a taste for the finer tipples in life, and theme parks and zoos for young families, making this a truly exciting new account for the team at PR Mediaco.
Sofia Panayiotaki, managing director of PR Media says, “When you think of a quintessential English city, Winchester is one of the first names that come to mind and we are so honoured to be able to work together with WCC and Discover Winchester to bring the area to a wider audience than ever before.”
