FORBES MEDIA APPOINTS CHARLES YARDLEY TO NEWLY CREATED POSITION

Forbes Media announced today the appointment of Charles Yardley to the newly created role of general manager for strategic partnerships Europe, effective immediately.

In this new position, Yardley will be responsible for sourcing new strategic business partnerships with Europe’s leading brands to further the company’s global growth. In particular, Yardley will lead the European expansion of Forbes.

Working closely alongside his US counterpart Janett Haas, senior vice president of brand solutions & strategic partnerships, Yardley will report to Mark Howard, chief revenue officer at Forbes Media. Yardley previously worked at Forbes Media for almost 12 years, overseeing the company’s growth across Europe.

Howard says, "We’re thrilled to have Charles back at Forbes in this new role. Very few people know the brand and strategy of the business, both in Europe and the US, as well as he does. His leadership and insights will help us create high-quality strategic partnerships for the Forbes brand across Europe.”

Yardley adds, “This year marks Forbes’ 100th anniversary. The company has remained true to its mission of championing free market capitalism and entrepreneurs all over the world while continuously innovating and adapting.  The landscape in which Forbes operates today has dramatically changed. This role offers new and exciting opportunities to build on Forbes’ European growth so far, and reinforce the brand by bringing its already-established franchises from the US and Asia to this region.”

Paul Mikhailoff will continue in his role as director for EMEA, overseeing the leadership of the Forbes sales team based in London and driving the expansion of Forbes in Europe. Mikhailoff reports to Jessica Sibley, senior vice president of sales, US and Europe.

Most recently, Yardley was COO at the London newspaper City A.M. He joined Forbes Media in 2004 and served as the company’s European managing director for five years until 2015. Yardley previously worked for the Financial Times Business, the B2B arm of the Financial Times.
