AMANDA COLEMAN ELECTED 2018 PR AND COMMUNICATIONS COUNCIL VICE-CHAIRMAN

The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) has revealed that Amanda Coleman FPRCA, head of corporate communications, Greater Manchester Police, has been elected as the vice-chairman of the PR and Communications Council 2018.

The PR and Communications Council provides a formal mechanism to consult with the industry's most senior practitioners on the issues PR and communications faces, to act as a think-tank for the industry, to inform the PRCA's strategic priorities and to produce helpful commentary, advice, and best-practice guidance for professionals.

The appointment follows an election process among the 2018 PR and Communications Council members.

Coleman has over 25 years’ experience both as a journalist and in communications roles. She has led the communications team at Greater Manchester Police during some challenging times including the Manchester Arena terrorist attack in May 2017. She was appointed as a PRCA Fellow in July.

Coleman takes on the role in January 2018, at the same time as Jonathan Chandler CMPRCA, CEO, Quiller Consulting, is promoted to PR and Communications Council chairman. Chandler replaces Molly Aldridge CMPRCA, global CEO, M&C Saatchi PR, as chairman of the Council in January 2018.

Coleman says, “I am really grateful for the support and am looking forward to supporting Jonathan and working alongside colleagues from across the PR and communication world. There are some significant challenges and opportunities facing the profession which gives us lots to discuss."

The PRCA would like to thank Molly Aldridge for her work leading the council this year.
