THE CHALHOUB GROUP ENTERS MOROCCO
Chalhoub Group, the leading partner for luxury across the Middle East, has announced that it has started its operations in Morocco with the opening of two Wojooh stores in Casablanca.
For this, Chalhoub Group has partnered with Omar Kabbaj and sons, one of the top-ranking local families in the hotels and commercial real estate business and owners of Morocco’s leading beauty distribution company, OLKA.
Based on the company’s intimate knowledge of the Middle Eastern market, which has witnessed various changes and the emergence of new markets such as Morocco, the Chalhoub Group made the decision to enter the Moroccan market through its own beauty concept store, Wojooh.
Wojooh is the leading beauty retailer in the Middle East and has been in the beauty business for more than 18 years, with over 75 stores across 10 countries in the region.
The first Chalhoub Group guests were welcomed to the 200sqm Wojooh store located in one of the prestigious neighbourhoods of Sijelmassi; with another 200sqm store located in Massira, one of Casablanca’s busiest retail streets.
Patrick Chalhoub, co-CEO of the Chalhoub Group comments, “We are excited about our arrival to the Moroccan market. It is true that the GCC luxury market is maturing; however we are still optimistic especially in view of the emerging potential of markets such as Morocco. Morocco is an exciting and potentially lucrative investment destination for retail companies.”
He continues, “The consumption landscape is changing, with a rising demand for brand names and quality from the upper-middle class and wealthy. We are planning to expand further in Morocco with more store openings planned in major cities such as Rabat, Marrakech, and Tangers.”
