EVENTOPEDIA.COM LAUNCHES IN NEW YORK

Event planners, suppliers and venue operators in New York will be able to share experiences on peer review and event intelligence site Eventopedia.

Launched Monday night at Stage 48 in Hells Kitchen with the help of International Special Events Society New York Chapter. The event had a social media theme with International Special Events Society members sharing their online experiences and how social media is an important part of their marketing efforts.

Teaming up with International Special Events Society New York Metro Chapter to sponsor their Fall Kickoff event 'On Top Of Your Game', Eventopedia utilised Giant iTab touch screen technology to demonstrate how they offer a fast and accurate search and match engine for site selection with 90% of New York event spaces represented. Experienced events professionals and those new to the industry will be able to make more informed international venue choices utilising the trusted community.

International Special Events Society New York Metro Chapter president, Darren Olarsch says, “Eventopedia’s innovative platform, digital products, and approach to industry efficiency fit well with the theme of our Fall kick off event, and we are delighted to have them as a sponsor. We welcome Eventopedia to the New York and American market”

Eventopedia was founded by hospitality and venue expert, Toby Heelis and former corporate agency director Alan Newton. Growth into major corporate event destinations will continue, with Dubai, Chicago, and Las Vegas all set to be launched in 2015.

Toby says, “Our combination of digital and online tools are appealing to destinations, individual venues, and corporate event planners alike. We increase visibility, transparency and enhance channels of communication. The synergy between London and New York, coupled with America’s appetite for innovation, made New York an obvious choice as one of our early stage destination launches”

Eventopedia backer and committee member, Sarah Holmes experience director at Terrapinn says, "New York is a key destination for many event planners on both sides of the pond. To read venue reviews from event planners and watch Virtual Site Inspections in destinations where I can’t simply jump into a taxi to see the venue is a very powerful and useful tool.”

Eventopedia helps #Eventprofs Plan Events With Ease, connecting brand owners and organisations to critical information and insights to help them control & manage their event marketing activity. The independent and democratic platform – free of commission & advertising fees – allows venue owners to compete on a level playing field, as event planners share their experiences with industry peers via online reviews. Digital tools, such as the Virtual Site Inspection, provide an added dimension enabling venue operators and destinations to convey their meetings and events information succinctly to event planners.
