EVENTOPEDIA.COM LAUNCHES IN MONTE-CARLO

Event planners, marketers and venue operators will be able to share experiences across borders, reaping time and monetary saving benefits, as Eventopedia launches its second European destination – Monte-Carlo.

Eventopedia connects brand owners and organisations to critical information and insights to help them control and manage their event marketing activity. The independent and democratic platform – free of commission and advertising fees – allows venue owners to compete on a level playing field, as event planners share their experiences with industry peers via online reviews. Digital tools, such as the Virtual Site Inspection, provide an added dimension enabling venue operators and destinations to convey their meetings and events information succinctly to event planners.

Teaming up with Monte-Carlo Societe des Bains des Mer (commonly called Monte-Carlo SBM), the largest operator in Monte-Carlo, Eventopedia offers a super fast search and match engine with 99% of the Monte-Carlo event spaces represented. Experienced events professionals and those new to the industry will be able to make more informed international venue choices utilising the trusted community.

Monte-Carlo SBM business development director – UK and Ireland, Ugo Delory says, “We’ve known the Eventopedia team for many years and, as industry practitioners, trust their expertise and believe in their unique concept of using smart digital products to deliver high value and efficiencies in the sourcing process”

Eventopedia was founded by hospitality and venue expert, Toby Heelis and former corporate agency director Alan Newton. Growth into major corporate event destinations will continue, with New York, Dubai, and Paris all set to be launched in 2015. Alan says, “Our combination of digital and online tools are appealing to destinations, individual venues, and corporate event planners alike. We increase visibility, transparency and enhance channels of communication. Having worked with Monte-Carlo SBM for many years, we felt launching Monte-Carlo as the second Eventopedia destination aligned with our high-level service and value for money.”

Eventopedia backer and committee member, head of venues and travel management at Informa, Melissa Willock says, "Monte-Carlo suffers from misconceptions due to its glitz and glamour, yet it’s a destination that offers value for money and excellent meetings and events facilities with world-class service. We’ve regularly used the destination and it’s encouraging to see Eventopedia team up with Monte-Carlo SBM to convey this message.”
